I haven’t switched to a raw diet yet because I’ve not known where to begin. It feels overwhelming, but I want to do it so badly. This book sounds like a great tool for learning. Does that count as an entry? I’d really love to win it.

I love that I can make a face mask from the same ingredients I put in my smoothie. My fav is mashed pineapple, kiwi, and papaya, I let it sit for 10 minutes and relax. Eating raw improved my skin because it eliminates the foods that irritated my skin.

Since I switched to a raw diet my skin is so much better. As I am suffering from a chronic pain in my neck and need to take medicins for that my skin was in a bad shape…..
It was dry and I had breakouts/spots all the time.
Am on the raw diet for about 6 months now and am amazed by the transformation already!
Also I notice my pain levels are slowly reducing and I can take less painkillers!
So I am definitely sticking to this great way of eating/living!

I know this will really inspire a lot of people who may be suffering physically, and browsing on here to try and get a glimpse into whether raw food and greens really COULD be the answer they’re looking for. Sharing your testimonial will no doubt completely change at least one person’s life, and probably a whole lot more. Thank you for being a part of our community. We are honored to have you here.

I have dabbled here and there with raw before but was never serious about it. Due to having celiac and some other issues from celiac it was a scare to get serious. It’s only been a week of delicious green smoothies but I have already lost 12 lbs. I take my measurements tomorrow but I know I have lost some inches as my clothes are feeling a lot looser. My round face looks thinner. The acne on my face has cleared up. I plan on doing green smoothies for 30 days and then transition to a raw diet for life. I can’t wait to see what other changes await me.

Not only has introducing more raw foods into my diet created a glow to my complexion, but I swear it’s made me look younger. The wrinkles seem to be less noticeable and the texture is much smoother, not to mention the redness from inflammation is much less.
Even though the physical changes that come with being a mostly raw-foodest are awesome, I was amazed at how my outlook on life changed. I have more energy and am just more positive about everything. I swear it’s even made me a nicer person!

I just recently started moving to a raw diet out of necessity. I have MS and found that eating a anti inflammatory diet helps me keep under control better, and reading on raw seemed even better to me, But… the side effect was that my skin started looking noticeably radiant, wrinles less noticeable, even toned color, softer… even the whites of my eyes that are irritating red are bright white! weird I know but really. I noticed before I used to eat lower fat, but eating raw added coconut oil, and healthier fats (still not high) my DRY skin isn’t dry any more!! loving the changes!

We’re loving your raw food skin transformation stories here Divas! Thank you for being so open and willing to share the details. Keep those comments coming, as you still have 6 days left before competition entries close.

Even though technically I can’t enter myself, I will share here with you my own skin transformation story: Transitioning to a raw diet (starting with daily Green Smoothies) just over 18 months ago, the first thing that I noticed was that the dark circles under my eyes went away almost immediately, and I was left with clear, bright eyes. Wow, how exciting this was! On a couple of occasions when we missed our organic vegIe delivery box, I would see the darkness returning within a day or two of not making my daily green smoothie. After noticing this pattern one or two times, well… I made sure I was ALWAYS stocked up on my favourite greens (kale and parsley) from thereon in!

The other difference I noticed was that the texture of the skin on my face was noticeably smoother to touch, and after a month or so of eating raw, my face actually started to have a nice tanned color without me getting any extra sun.

I love raw food! It’s the answer to so many of life’s pressing questions. In this case for me it was the answer to: “Do I really need to buy that all-important $70 face cream from the department store, that the magazines say I MUST have for dark circles and wrinkles?” My finding to my relief was that no, I most certainly do not!

“More on greens, less on creams!” That’s my motto.

My first experience on raw was taking a dive and committing to a month of 100% raw foods only, and getting people to sponsor me for a charity to make sure I stuck to it.
The charity got some money, but I got the comments on how much weight I was losing, my nails weren’t breaking so easily, my hair stopped spreading itself everywhere except my head, my skin felt so good I’d take 5 mins longer in the shower feeling how amazingly soft it was, and best of all it seemed like my eyes,(one of which has had surgery so both of which get tired easily) suddenly developed a lot more endurance and sparkle.

Ever since then I’ve been working on transitioning more permanently, learning how to deal with winter and still stay raw, and step by step integrating my friends and family into understanding that I’m not just a vegetarian any more…

I love all this raw talk, so delicious, when i first started raw, with the help of your green smoothies, a friend noticed my skin and was so surprised, she kept saying how much younger i look (53), which i was so pleased to hear, i have since had a few more say that to me. It really boosts my confidence, and all thanks to green smoothies.
      Thanks

That’s brilliant Theresa. It’s great when you realise you can take all that money that you THOUGHT you had to spend on anti-aging creams and redirect a FRACTION of the funds to buying gorgeous organic greens to get the RESULT you were looking for all along. This is definitely what I’ve found to be absolutely amazing.
      Thanks for sharing this here.

      Hello dear Divas,

First of all I would like to thank you for providing so many great tips and recipes! Your funny style of writing is surely motivating and inspiring! One can smell and sense the health coming through your site. Well, enough is enough! Now, before I detected your book I had my own experience with raw food as the strongest healing power on earth. Two years ago I had from one day to another an outbreak of neurodermitis, a horrible skin condition which errupted in the middle of summer with temperatures around 80. The eruption happened when my dad suffered from a heart attack and my mother and I had to watch slowly his death during 3 months, running from one hospital to another. My condition was so bad, that I was hiding in the washroom, not to be seen by my students. Whereever I spend a few minutes, I would leave piles of flakes behind.I had it everywhere, on my head,in my face, in the inside of my elbows and knees, between my legs, on my back, on my eyelids. I could peel off an area of about 1 2cm² in one shot. It was such a nightmare that after a while my ego started to suffer as well – no kidding. Besides, the itching was unbearable especially when temperatures rose, thus, I was approaching a nervous breakdown. I did not want to take cortisone, which would not solve the problem. Being a naturopath myself, I started to establish my own healing plan and stuck by it for 4 months. I was always conscious about what I was eating, but now, I integrated more raw food and especially lots of avocados, did not eat after 5 pm, got my 8 hours of sleep, practiced yoga seriously every day for 1 hr, and went running and walking as often as possible. I also took some plant enzymes and drank herbal tea (dandelion and milk thithle). In other words, I put myself first! After three months slowly but surely things started to change, but I really had to be patient. (By the way, no creme would do anything good). After 4 months it was almost gone, but I was still scared as I noticed it was coming back when I was stressed. Then I went luckily to California for a few weeks, in raw food dream land, and from thereon nothing ever happened again. Up to today, 2 years later, I have no symptoms at all. And in between I found your great site, which encourages me to do a whole week of juice fasting and stick to raw food, which ain`t easy here in Germany.

Keep up your great job up! Love you for that!

      Ginger

Ginger, this sounds like it was one tough healing situation to go through. I have so much respect for your dedication to healing yourself naturally. WIth a condition a severe as what you described, I can only imagine what it feel like patiently waiting for the healing to take it’s course. Sharing your story here will be an amazing encouragement to others with severe skin conditions who are looking for a solution.
Thanks so much for the positive feedback too!
